What
is the Poker Run Contest?
Cars gathering at Hampton Inn & Suites for Poker Run |
A Poker Run is a combination of a navigation rally and poker game.
Here's how it works.
Registered entries are given rules, instructions, route
directions, and are launched from the Poker Run Start at
regular intervals. Participants
follow the navigational route instructions from checkpoint to
checkpoint through as many as ten or twelve checkpoints to the
finish line. Neither speed nor time are considerations in winning the
Poker Run, so take your time and enjoy the cruisin’.
Each checkpoint is located at a participating
sponsor's place of business.
The Poker Run sponsors are very competitive and are the
real backbone of this event.
They go all out to make your experience at their
checkpoint the most memorable. They earn and deserve your support!

Poker Run participant
selecting a card |
There are five (5) randomly selected checkpoints where participants are
asked to select a card from a deck of playing cards.
At each checkpoint a volunteer will mark your arrival on your score
sheet. Checkpoint
workers record the card selection on the participants' score
sheets.
At the Finish Line the participants submit their score sheet poker hands
for official scoring. Poker
Run officials score the submitted poker hand score sheets on
the basis of Hoyle's poker rules.
