The 2007 Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous® was a huge success because of one very important element – you, the volunteers!
Now it is time to make a commitment for the 2008 Rendezvous

Administration:


Route 66 AdministrationQualifications: Volunteers will be provided with information of the event to assist the public. Must be able to answer telephone calls in a friendly and courteous manner, take accurate messages, and assist with miscellaneous office needs.

 

 

Banner Placement:
Route 66 Banner Placement
Qualifications: Must be able to place and take down banners on bike rail and scaffold towers at predetermined locations.  Some lifting and climbing is required.

 


Canteen FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Route 66 CanteenThis is an area where volunteers check-in/out, get refreshments, food or just take a break. Qualifications: Must possess organizational skills in order to track volunteer hours and distribute working event staff T-shirts.

 

 


Cruisin’ Awards / Controlled cruises:

Route 66 Cruisin' Awards
Qualifications: Must be friendly and courteous, possess excellent organizational skills, be able to assist sponsors and VIP’s with award selections, and stage vehicles of award winners for controlled cruises.

 


 

Event Logistics:Route 66 Event Logistics

Qualifications: Must have organizational skills, check in and out golf carts and equipment, re-fuel equipment. Forklift experience is not necessary but is a plus.

 

 

Exhibitor Services: -

Route 66 Exhibitors ServicesQualifications: Volunteer will assist organizers with vendor check-in and setup and monitor vendor areas for problems. Volunteer must be able to handle multiple tasks at once; possess excellent communication, decision making, and conflict management skills.


 

 



hospitality / rendezvous club:


Route 66 Rendezvous Club (
VIP Reception Thurday night / Cruisin’ Hall of Fame Brunch Saturday / Rendezvous Club & Hospitality Area at the Radisson Hotel).  Qualifications: Oversee hospitality area, assist with serving and cleanup, must be friendly, courteous, and professional.

INFORMATION BOOTHS:


Qualifications: Volunteer will be provided with information of the event to assist the public.

MODEL CAR CONTEST: -

Saturday, September 20 at Carousel Mall. Qualifications: must be able to assist with displaying the model car entries.

NEON LIGHT CONTEST: -

Thursday, September 18 evening event. Qualifications: must be able
Help line up the vehicles and maintain order.

OPEN HEADER CONTEST:
Route 66 Open Header Contest
(Saturday Event 3:00pm-5:00pm) Qualifications: Must be able to assist the organizers with vehicle check-in, decibel reading, and traffic control.

 

 

POKER RUN CONTEST: - Route 66 Poker Run

(Saturday Event 9:00am-1:00pm – throughout San Bernardino) Qualifications: Volunteer will man an assigned poker stop (business), assist with traffic control in and out of the poker stop, assist the organizers with setup and teardown.

 

traffic logistics:

Qualifications: Must be able to follow directions, assist with barricade / bike rail placement and takedown, assist with traffic control and pedestrian crossing in intersections, assist permit enforcement with enforcing cruise rules and regulations.

 


vehicle registration:

Qualifications: Volunteer must be friendly and patient. They must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, possess excellent communication and decision-making skills, as well as conflict management skills.

Each volunteer will be assigned to a committee chairperson.  Your chairperson will then contact you regarding dates and times for training sessions.  These sessions will be held prior to the event.

As always, "The cars are the Stars" remains our motto -- over 1,900 "Stars" were registered last year.  The attendance exceeded 500,000 people throughout the 4-days of the event.
